I am going to Houston arriving at the George Bush Internation airport.
I am coming from Chicago and don’t really know where to find a good dinner/bruch near or arond the airport.
We’d hopefully want to go to a hotel near the airport but any good places you know, please list them.
Thanks
Chad

Well I’m not sure if they will be open on Thanksgiving day or if there is one near the airport but I do know that Saltgrass Steakhouse is absolutely the best steak house I have ever been too. It’s very elegant but not too fancy and the food is excellent! There are many throughout the Houston area so it shouldn’t be too hard to find one. If you decide to eat here, i really recommend that you get the Range Rattler appetizer. They are fried jalapeno’s stuffed with a huge shrimp and cheese. Well worth every penny!

How long is the layover?
The reason I ask is that Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport is not exactly… convenient. Getting in and out is not exactly easy. You could hire a cab and have it take you seven or eight miles to the nearest restaurant, but you’ll have to mess with the crush of Thanksgiving travelers going through security when you return. Think of O’Hare with a different airline. You just don’t pop out for a snack and expect to waltz back in.
Your best bet is to eat on the airport grounds, staying in your terminal.
If you fly in on Continental you’ll be in Terminal C. If you fly on American or United you’ll be in Terminal A.
Here’s a list of amenities for Terminal C:

You aren’t going to find a Thanksgiving dinner or brunch at the airport. You won’t want to hassle with a restaurant (Denny’s?) unless your layover is AT LEAST 3 hours.
If you’re arriving and staying in Houston, that’s different. A previous poster mentioned Saltgrass Steak House. Decent food, and there are many. I have absolutely no idea whether they’re open on Thanksgiving.
You might check and see if the Houston Airport Marriott restaurants are open on Thanksgiving. One of theirs is a revolving restaurant. I’m trying to remember the name of it, but it was pricey but decent.

Not very many major restaurants are going to be open on Thanksgiving. Maybe places like IHOP or something.
