How do I get the best deals on 5 star hotel in vegas?
Hotel DealsKaren N asked:
I’m having a girl night out with 4 of my gf in sep 20-23. Since we’re splitting the $ we want to stay at a 5 star resort but we want to get the best deals there is. Any tips on getting the best prices out of them? I’m flying out of PDX. Appreciate any tips you can give me.

Try to get a package deal to The Mirage, The Bellagio, Caesar’s, or the Golden Nugget (downtown is fun ). Good idea to start now. The weather in September is perfect!! About 90, no humidity. That really does make a difference, and the mornings and nights are so beautiful. You might want to eat on top of the Stratosphere. Bring $$$ for food and shopping (The Forum Shops in Caesar’s, and the Fashion Show Mall. On the strip at Spring Mt. Road.) Those strores rival Rodeo Drive. Have a blast!!

You can see if there are package deals at the hotel of your choice or go to any of the Airline or travel websites (e.g. Travelocity) to see if you can get a packaged deal. If this is your first, time, you can plan on getting a hotel more central on the Strip.
Treasure Island/Wynn/Venetian/Frontier are adjacent or close to the Fashion Mall (biggest Mall in Vegas…most upscale in my opinion).
BUT, there is also Bellagio, Casears, Harrahs, Flamingo, Ballys, Paris that are nearby the Caesars Forum shopping center and with easy walking distance to Fashion Mall.
MGM, New York, Tropicana, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay are on the South end of the strip….which is fine but then you’ll need to make your way (taxi, monorail…walk) to the central strip areas where the better shopping (Fashion Mall, Caesars Forum) are.
Harrahs has a gambling program called total rewards. While you’re there and if you plan to gamble, you can accumulate points for free meals, shows i.e Comps.
Good Luck and have fun.

There is a big difference between a “star” rating and a Diamond rating. Anyone can claim a hotel is 5 stars, but what does it really mean? Who is setting the standards for these star ratings? The hotel? The travel agent or website that is trying to sell you a night at the hotel?
The American Automobile Association, AAA, has strict standards regarding it’s Diamond ratings. You can be sure that a 5 Diamond rated property is thoroughly inspected repeated times and has to consistently maintain the standards outlined by AAA. Even a 4 Diamond property is going to be a great experience, but a 5 Diamond property is the ultimate in service and accommodations. There are very few 5 Diamond ratings given out annually to hotels, resorts and restaurants. I believe that here are only four 5 Diamond properties in Las Vegas currently.
You CAN get deals at these properties. If you’re a member of AAA, the properties usually have a AAA discount. Also, since some of them are major chains (Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt Regency, Preferred Hotels, etc.), you can easily join their frequent traveler clubs and get discounts for being a member. Even some of the on-line wholesalers (Orbitz, Hotels.com, Travelocity, etc.) will sometimes be able to sell some of these rooms at a great discount off the hotel’s standard rates.
This web-page from AAA gives a lot more information on Diamond standards and ratings:

A good travel site to search for top rated hotels is with
YTB Travel - Amazing Tours and Travel
the “book travel” icon will take you to the travel site.
The travel site has package deals that can save you a lot of money. This will allow you to compare and save to make sure you get a top quality room.
The travel site has a 110% booking listed under “hot rate hotels”.

I have two pieces of free advice for you: First one is to do your research and the second is to book your air and hotel seperately because hotel prices fluctuate a lot and if you reserve through a third party you will not be able to get the difference if the room rate goes down.
Below are a couple of websites for research.
Here are websites that rates/reviews hotels in Vegas:
If you have any Vegas related question go here:
When you finally decide where you want to stay, go to any of these sites for the latest discount codes:
Happy planning!!
ps - I would look for deals at Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian and THE Hotel, in that order

Well I have been just checking this out recently. If you go to priceline.com and look up your dates then check the 5 star tab. You will see the regular price for the Venetian. It is the only 5 star hotel listed with priceline. Today it is listed at $253 per night plus tax.
You can bid (name your price) and see if you can get it for less, I would try half if it accepts your bid you bought the room if not it will suggest the amount to increase.
I have booked rooms in the past and when there is only one hotel listed I tend to get it. However they could spring another hotel in the mix although if you request a 5 star that’s what you will get.
You can also pick the approximate area like the strip/Fremont street are considered one area.
Also for your flight go to this will search the entire web for the best deals and post who has them, as of today US Airways has the lowest price from Portland to Vegas at $224 per person this include tax although this may not have the timing you want.
have fun and good luck

Because there are 5 of you, ou want a 5 star?? You may rethink that.
Like the Golden Nugget has an awesome two floor suite for a resonable price. Luxury and space to party or to bring some guests over .. Plus it is a nice hotel over all (AAA four diamond for 23 years in a row)
next, are all paying the same share? What are the goas for the trip? Party, unwind? get laid?? That should determine where you want to stay and play.
