how much to bring if planning a vacation to hong kong excluding shopping and accommodation?
Hotel Dealsmcmak asked:
I’m planning a trip to HK around March and April 09. How much HKD should i bring excluding accommodation and shoppings?
Just a rough estimation on sightseeing, travel fairs and food will do.

At the moment, $1 US is roughly equal to $7 HK. My mom recently went on a trip there and she managed to spend less than $700 for a two-week trip. She is, however, very pragmatic and didn’t do much shopping or sightseeing. (It was a family visit.) I would definitely research tourist sights ahead of time, prioritize, and plan the sight-seeing budget as if you were going to all those places. Figure on eating probably $60 US per day if you were eating out every day. That’s all I can think of for now.

To give you an overview (you may do the math after).
An entrance fee to some major attractions, /day/person
Disneyland = HK$290
Ocean Park = HK$145
Ngong Ping cable car = HK$58
Tram ticket to the Peak = HK$20
Average meal = HK$30
Transportation (MTR trains and buses) = HK$150
I highly recommend this site that gives you most info you needed before you travel to Hong Kong…
